libimobiledevice-dev software package provides Library for communicating with iPhone and iPod Touch devices, you can install in your Ubuntu 14.04 LTS (Trusty Tahr) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install libimobiledevice-dev
libimobiledevice-dev is installed in your system.
Make ensure the libimobiledevice-dev package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep libimobiledevice-dev *
You will get with libimobiledevice-dev package name, version, architecture and description in a table
